Big Five Encounters In A Landscape Of Cliffs, Riverine Beauty And Quiet Wonder
Into The Wild Of Welgevonden
A stay at The Riverine Lodge is about more than accommodation. It is a complete safari experience shaped by the landscapes, wildlife, and atmosphere of Welgevonden. Each day includes two guided game drives, taking guests into the reserve in the cool of the morning and again in the softer light of late afternoon.
Welgevonden is home to the Big Five as well as a wide variety of plains game, predators, and birdlife across a richly varied landscape of valleys, bushveld, river systems, and sandstone cliffs. This is a reserve that offers both adventure and perspective, where the drama of a sighting sits alongside moments of stillness, silence, and awe.
The Waterberg is one of the oldest mountain ranges on earth, and Welgevonden carries that sense of age and wonder in every direction. With no city lights on the horizon, the night sky becomes a brilliant canvas, and the landscape invites a slower, deeper kind of attention. Here, the wild does more than excite. It restores, recentres, and reminds guests of the beauty of creation.
